- All CPVC schedule 80 fittings shall be produced by Spears® Manufacturing Company from CPVC materials, cell classification 23447 conforming to ASTM Standard D 1784. All injection-molded fittings through 12 in shall be manufactured in compliance to ASTM F 439 and Certified by NSF® International for use with potable water service. All 14 in through 24 in and fabricated fittings shall be produced in accordance with Spears® Specifications. All CPVC flanges shall be designed and manufactured to meet CL150 bolt pattern per ANSI Standard B16.5.

- Elevated temperature fluid mediums require a de-rating of thermoplastic pipe maximum internal pressure ratings at 73 deg F
- With similar chemical and corrosion resistance to PVC, increased chlorine content gives CPVC superior thermal resistance.
- CPVC is not recommended for use with chlorinated or aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, or polar solvents such as ketones.
- Spears® CPVC materials conform to ASTM Cell Classification 23447 (formerly designated as Type IV, Grade 1). The maximum recommended service temperature of CPVC products is 200° F (93° C).
