EPA Section 608 Training and Certification
Remote Class via Microsoft Teams
This course prepares HVAC technicians to earn their EPA Section 608 Certification, required by federal law to handle refrigerants legally. Designed for both new and experienced technicians, the class covers essential knowledge and hands-on skills to safely manage, recover, and service refrigerants in residential and commercial systems. This course consists of 5 evening sessions.
Note: Students will need a PC, laptop, tablet or mobile phone to access online certification test.
Topics covered:
- Overview of EPA regulations and compliance requirements
- Refrigerant types, properties, and safety considerations
- Recovery, recycling, and disposal procedures
- Leak detection, charging, and evacuation techniques
- Proper use of gauges, recovery machines, and leak detectors
- Test preparation for Type I, II, III, and Universal certification
- Practical tips to minimize risk and ensure environmental compliance
