- Press fittings system for water is the fastest, easiest way to join copper tubing systems. The system offers the advantage of a flame-free installation, therefore posing no fire risk. It is a versatile press fitting system for use with hard, half-hard and soft copper tube, providing a secure, long-life, leak-proof joint. They are available in copper and red brass and are suitable for use with copper tube to EN 1057. Press System® for water for sizes 12 to 54 mm is installed, with a mechanical press tool with a compatible jaw with a "V" profile to fit each size of fitting required (for sizes 64 to 108 mm there is required a press tool, actuator and compatible sized press ring "VF" profile to fit each size fitting). When pressure is exerted through the press tool the joint is permanently made and the fitting cannot be dismounted or re-used. The Press System® for water eliminates the need for solder, adhesives or additional jointing materials. The "V" profile has the advantage of a three point press, two mechanical presses either side of the bead and one hydraulic press crimping the O-ring (12 to 54 mm only). Press fittings system for water has a stainless grip ring for additional strength (64 to 108 mm only). This provides a more secure joint. Press fittings are suitable for potable water, hot and cold water installations, chilled water, compressed air and vacuum. Size range - 12 to 108 mm. Press fitting bodies are produced from copper and copper alloy materials. Copper fittings are made from oxygen-free copper CU-DHP (material number EN 12165 CW024A). Copper alloy fittings are produced from red brass (gunmetal): EN 1982, CC 499K. Press fittings are available with male and female threaded connections to the following standards. Jointing threads are to ISO 7-1 and EN 10226-1. Female are parallel and male are taper. Fastening threads are to ISO 228 parallel.
