Sioux Chief 598-021 Series thermal expansion tank support kit shall be used where necessary to take the load and weight off pipes, fittings or connections to tube where thermal expansion tanks are installed in closets or near finished or unfinished walls. The expansion tank kit includes Sioux Chief's SaddleUp™ bracket with two #6 x 2 in screws and stainless steel bands. Bands shall fit a range of thermal expansion tanks up to 5-gallons. Snap-lock bands shall be stainless steel and the SaddleUp™ bracket shall be galvanized. The mounting screws shall be zinc-plated for corrosion resistance.

  • Band may be trimmed if desired, when water heater and expansion tank are not located near a stub wall, top plate connector(s) can be secured to a joist and the galvanized bracket and band suspended overhead and secured to an expansion tank when oriented horizontally
