To protect ferrous metals such as cast iron from corrosion, Barrier-PEX is treated with EVOH barrier film to minimize oxygen permeation. Barrier-PEX is orange in color and possesses the same qualities and features of NIBCO® PEX. NIBCO® PEX delivers clean, safe potable water because there are no toxic chemical additives in the material, no leaching of colors and there is no metal taste or odor.
